Subatomic physics II

Introduction and reminder of general concepts Decay rates and cross sections The Dirac equation Interaction by particle exchange Electron-positron annihilation Electron-proton elastic scattering Deep inelastic scattering Symmetries and the quark model Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) The weak interaction The weak interactions of leptons Neutrinos and neutrino oscillations CP violation and the weak hadronic interactions Electroweak unification Test of the Standard Model The Brout-Englert-Higgs boson. GENERAL COMPETENCIES The student masters the phenomenolocial description of particle interactions and can bring these concepts to testable and measurable quantities. The student can interprete modern particle physics experiments into a theoretical framework.
